LICKLASH

Licklash, a punk band based in Naarm, was founded by Kahlia Parker (Girl Germs, Show Pony) and Carsten Bruhn (CB Radio, Roolette Records). The band is known for their high energy live shows, in 2024 they performed 45 shows and have supported the likes of Jack White (USA), Cable Ties, and Private Function. Their debut single, "Party Line," was released in September, serving as the lead track from their debut EP, Big Smile, which New Noise Magazine labelled as “the epitome of everything that makes punk rock great.”

The EP, entirely self-produced, was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Parker and Bruhn at home. Written during the 2020 COVID lockdowns, the four songs represent a four-year creative process. Big Smile was released on a limited edition 7" vinyl in opaque red through Roolette Records. Reflecting their commitment to DIY practices, the band personally screen-printed the EP’s jackets, with artwork by Parker under her design alias, Show Pony.
